The School of Law’s Community Justice Clinic will hold a free DACA Renewal Clinic on Sept. 25 for any DACA recipient who needs legal advice or needs to file a renewal by Oct. 5.

The clinic will take place from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in 507 O’Brian Hall, North Campus. Those wishing assistance should call 716-645-2167 or email the clinic to make an appointment; no walk-ins will be accepted.

The DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals) program allowed undocumented immigrants brought to the U.S. as children to work and live in the U.S. without threat of deportation. President Donald Trump has announced the program would be ending in six months.

Reapplying for DACA ensures recipients their right to work and maintains their low priority for federal immigration officials.

The Community Justice Clinic, part of the law school’s Clinical Legal Education Program, represents low-income residents of Buffalo on issues related to immigration, workers’ rights, consumer justice, civil rights and government benefits.
