There’s still time to register for Day of Caring

Volunteers are still needed for the 23rd annual Day of Caring on Aug. 19.

Organized by the United Way of Buffalo and Erie County, Day of Caring is Western New York’s largest community service event and serves as the launch for UB’s annual Campaign for the Community.

The event starts at 8 a.m. at First Niagara Center, with volunteers leaving by bus for their worksites at 8:45 a.m. UB volunteers will take on such projects as painting and landscaping. Light duty assignments are available by request.

Participants will return to First Niagara Center by noon, where they can enjoy a free lunch and entertainment.

Registration deadline is Aug. 17.
