Nominations sought for student employee, intern of the year

The offices of Career Services and Financial Aid are looking for UB student employees who have done an outstanding job assisting unit operations for nomination as Student Employee of the Year.

To be eligible for the honor, students must have worked a minimum of three months during the 2012-13 academic year. Nominators should evaluate students based on reliability, quality of work, initiative, disposition and contribution.

Nominations are due by 5 p.m. April 5. Supervisors should visit the Career Services website to nominate a student employee 

Career Services also will recognize a UB student who is interning on campus and making an exceptional contribution to his or her office as UB Campus Intern of the Year.

To be eligible for the honor, students must currently be interning in a UB office or department, or have completed an on-campus internship during the 2012 fall or summer semester. Students may be participating in a credit-bearing or noncredit-bearing internship.

Graduate/teaching/research assistants are not eligible to be nominated.

The selection committee will evaluate each student on the following criteria: active learning, reliability, quality of work, initiative and overall contribution to the internship site.

To nominate a student intern, visit the Career Services website. The deadline for nominations is 5 p.m. April 5.

The Student Employee and Campus Intern of the Year will be recognized at an awards reception at 3 p.m. April 19 in the Honors College Colloquium Room, Capen Library, North Campus.
