Feeling stressed? UB faculty and staff can learn ways to handle the pressure of everyday living at a free, half-day “Stress Less Retreat” on Nov. 13 sponsored by Employee Assistance Program.

Sessions will be offered from 8:30 a.m. to noon and from 1-5 p.m. in the Center for Tomorrow, North Campus. Registered participants can enjoy a free healthy lunch from noon to 1 p.m.

The morning session will feature information on stress management techniques, including mindfulness based stress reduction, and a keynote address by Catherine Ansuini, chair of the Health and Wellness Department at SUNY Buffalo State.

The afternoon session will focus on using regular exercise, as well as tai chi and yoga, to relieve stress. Amy Myszka, director of wellness and work/life balance, will talk about maintaining a healthy balance between work life and family life.

Both sessions will feature chair massages, therapy dogs, vendor shopping and prize drawings for healthy treatments.
