Faculty and staff looking for summer educational opportunities for their school-aged children or teens can take advantage of three programs offered by the College of Arts and Sciences and led by CAS faculty members.
Sandy Geffner, lecturer in the Social Sciences Interdisciplinary Degree Programs, will lead a Field Ecology Adventures outdoor camp for 8-12 year olds July 29 through Aug. 2. Each day will focus on specific environmental themes, such as earth awareness, wildlife studies and survival skills.
Lance Rintamaki, associate professor in the Department of Communication, will present a Leadership Communication camp Aug. 14-16 and a Sexual Communication workshop on Aug. 17. Both are for young adults ages 14-18.
The Leadership Communication camp is a hands-on, interactive training program focused on the key skills associated with effective leadership. The Sexual Communication workshop focuses on helping participants understand the social and physiological variables that shape sexual attitudes, beliefs and behaviors.
