Basketball events herald ‘Hurley Era’

The “Hurley Era” has officially begun.

The UB Bulls men’s basketball team will hold an open practice at 11:30 a.m. Oct. 19 in Alumni Arena, North Campus. Get your first glimpse of the 2013-14 Bulls and first-year head coach Bobby Hurley prior to the free Big Bad Voodoo Daddy tailgate concert at 1:30 p.m. and UB football game vs. UMass at 3:30 p.m. Admission to the practice is free.

The following week, the men’s and women’s basketball teams will join for the family-friendly “Bulls Madness at 7 p.m. Oct. 25 in Alumni Arena. This free event will include a slam-dunk contest with celebrity judges, a three-point shooting contest, scrimmages and much more. 

The UB men’s team will open the season on Nov. 8 at Texas A&M; the home opener is Nov. 16 vs. West Virginia Wesleyan. The women will open the season on Nov. 8 at Binghamton; the official home opener is Nov. 16 vs. Cornell.

Faculty and staff may purchase season tickets for $100—a discount of $25 from the public price of $125. A season ticket provides entry to both the men’s and women’s games. A women’s-only season ticket is $75.
