Have you lost the joy you previously experienced in your work? Do you want to prevent burnout in your professional life?

The Office of Interprofessional Education is offering a free faculty development course designed to help participants from across the university do just that.

“Promoting Joy at Work and Reducing Burnout” will take place from 1-4 p.m. Feb. 8 in 403 Hayes Hall, South Campus.

Presenters include Lisa Jane Jacobsen, clinical associate professor, Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences at UB, and Patricia J. Ohtake, assistant vice president, Office of Interprofessional Education, “Interprofessional Education, Collaboration and the Quadruple Aim”; Archana Mishra, clinical associate professor, Jacobs School, “Reignite the Flame: A Burnout Survivor’s Journey to Joy!”; and Paul Tesluk, dean, School of Management, “Successful Teaming: Teamwork Principles that Promote Interprofessional Collaboration in Health Care.”

Faculty in dental medicine, medicine, nursing, occupational therapy, pharmacy, physical therapy and social work can earn continuing education credit. While the content is focused on health care practitioners, the course is open to all UB faculty.

While the course is free, space is limited and registration is required. Registration deadline is Feb. 5.
