A training session has been scheduled on the Downtown Campus for “Shop Blue,” UB’s new eProcurement system that provides an Amazon-like purchasing experience that will greatly reduce both the procurement process and improve delivery times.

The session will take place from 2-3:30 p.m. Aug. 24 in the UB Educational Opportunity Center, 555 Ellicott St. Those attending are asked to RSVP.

Sessions for employees on the North and South campuses will be scheduled soon.

Those attending the training sessions will learn about the transition from the current eReq system to Shop Blue and see a brief demonstration of the new system.

A question-and-answer session will follow.

Shop Blue can be used by anyone with a valid UB appointment who needs to make a purchase for work — from requisitioners who make large purchases of furniture or lab equipment to employees who need to buy ink cartridges for their department printers.

“It’s a more modern shopping experience for the user,” says Michael Maute, process improvement director for business services who is leading the initiative with Linda Deni, director of procurement operations.
