Capstone (UBC 399) Force Registration Policy

Students are eligible for the UB Curriculum Capstone (UBC 399) once they have completed their UB Seminar and have either completed or are concurrently enrolled in their remaining UB Curriculum requirements.

Students can submit UBC 399 force registration requests for the following reasons:

  1. Prerequisite or Corequisite Missing. Students may plan to complete their final UB Curriculum coursework at another institution. Students will be asked to supply proof of enrollment and completion of the prerequisite or corequisite courses to satisfy any remaining UB Curriculum requirements.
  2. Course is Closed. Be sure to add a different open section or enroll to the waitlist, if available. Students may submit a request to be force registered into UBC 399 in a given term if all course sections are closed/seats are occupied only if they are completing their undergraduate degree(s) in the same term.
  3. Repeat. Students are permitted to self-enroll in a class twice. Any attempts to regiser for the UB Curriculum Capstone beyond the two permitted must be approved by the UB Curriculum office through the Force Registration Request form.

Requests are reviewed on a first-come, first-serve basis. Completing a force registration form does not guarantee registration.

Please allow for additional processing time during high volume periods like open registration.
