  • UB’s Carbon Reduction Challenge returns with new ways to reduce – and count — WNY companies’ emissions

    After a two-year hiatus, the Carbon Reduction Challenge returned this semester to connect students with organizations around WNY, offering insight and problem-solving skills to provide solutions as to how these companies can reduce their overall carbon footprint. 

  • Showing up for the City of Good Neighbors
    5/9/24

    As part of its 90th anniversary celebration, the School of Social Work hit the streets to partake in a day of community service on Buffalo's East Side. In tadnem with the City of Buffalo's Operation Clean Sweep initiative, volunteers provided residents with trash cleanup while also delivering certain resources to residents, including dental supplies, children’s books, cooling towels, seed packets and more.

    This year's 2024 SLICE winners have been announced! With two new categories - the Alumni and Climate Justices awards - these awards recognize exemplary efforts by university community members to express UB’s continuing efforts to improve its status as a leading sustainability institution across the nation.

  • Team says ‘cheeze’ to win UB entrepreneurship competition
    4/25/24

    First-year MBA students Matthew Mullens and Neharika Korati have won the 2024 Panasci competition, an inititiative that aims to maximize the entreprenurial spirit of students and create viable businesses in Western New York. The company, Empasta - a plant-based, cheese-alternative sauce - secured $25,000 in capital funding and $40,000 in in-kind services to further develop and expand their product offering.
