  • Semiconductor advancement could lead to low-cost, flexible electronic devices

    New innovation for inexpensive and powerful electronic devices continues to grow. Recentely there has been some success in finding alternatives for ideal conductors for ideal for high-performance semiconductor devices used in solar panels and many other electronic devices.

  • MOU with University of the West Indies to contribute to UN Sustainable Development Goals
    5/23/24

    President Satish K. Tripathi signed a memorandum of understanding with the University of the West Indies (UWI) on May 20 to support the United Nations 2030 Sustainable Development Goals. This partnership aims to enhance global sustainability and resiliency through shared contributions, attract future global leaders, and foster transformative research collaborations across SUNY and UWI. Both institutions will benefit from increased competitiveness for funding, potentially leading to job creation through sustainable development initiatives.

  • NASA taps UB researchers’ team to advance satellite observation of climate change
    5/17/24

    Several UB researchers have been sleected by NASA to contribute to a salletite-based mission that will help better our understanding of climate change. This mission - happening sometime between 2030-2032 - will provide essential real-time data in understanding greenhouse gases and changes in ice and glaciers around the world.

  • Protecting our ocean one treaty at a time
    5/15/24

    Elizabeth Kim, three time University at Buffalo alumna, aims to protect 30% of the world’s oceans by 2030 through a treaty she helped negotiate with her role at the U.S. Department of State. Kim is dedicated to preserving the health and well-being of Earth for future generations.
