Apply to be a Tutor or Academic Coach

Thank you for your interest in joining the Tutoring and Academic Support Services (TASS) team. We welcome applications for tutors, coaches, and Peer-Assisted Learning (PAL) leaders who have completed at least 15 credits at the University at Buffalo and have earned an A- or better in the course(s) they wish to tutor. Applicants must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.3 and not have any academic integrity or judicial issues at UB. Our staff members hold paid positions, which include training and can lead to certification.

Please complete and submit the application below. We will contact only individuals who are qualified for the positions and only when an opening is available. As with any position, there is no guarantee of being hired after applying.

There is no need to stop by the center to express your interest after you submit your application, nor is there a need to resubmit your application if you don’t hear from us within 6 months of applying. If you are not called for an interview within 6 months of your application, we will not be pursuing your candidacy, as we receive many applications and may not have openings.
