As part of UB’s commitment to achieving climate neutrality, the university is working hard to decarbonize its heating and cooling systems, and become more efficient. However, as the transition to this work occurs, the fall and spring shoulder seasons present challenges to UB’s existing heating and cooling infrastructure.

E. Brooke Lerner, professor and vice chair of research in the Department of Emergency Medicine, Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences, died Oct. 4 after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. She was 52.

UB’s Center for Urban Studies and Buffalo Public Schools’ Futures Academy are in need of volunteers later this month to assist with the seasonal closing of Futures Garden. The garden is located across the street from Futures Academy, at 155 Orange St., Buffalo.

UB has launched the search for the next dean of the School of Law, Provost A. Scott Weber announced today. School of Engineering and Applied Sciences Dean Kemper Lewis will serve as chair of the committee.
