Psychology Today published an article co-authored by Kate Berukova, about how the coronavirus pandemic may affect how we relate and interact with one another for years to come, particularly given declining membership over the past few decades in groups associated with churches, schools, workplaces and fraternal organizations. “What if the pandemic has caused us to take notice of our separateness and the rather painful, unpleasant effects most people feel that come with not being around others enough?” Bezrukova asks.
