Trump uses the 'language of war' on Twitter and it may have helped him beat his Republican rivals

Newsweek published an article about a UB-led study of more than 22,000 tweets sent by 12 Republican presidential hopefuls during the 2016 primaries. Study co-author Yotam Ophir said the final two candidates — Donald Trump and John Kasich — appropriated the language of war. "Twitter gives candidates more control and agency over their message than the traditional mass media—yet we know little about what politicians do with this power," said Ophir.
