NYC faces huge public housing repair bill

A story on Marketplace about the New York City public housing system and its state of disrepair interviews Henry Louis Taylor Jr., professor of urban and regional planning in the UB School of Architecture and Planning, who said that a 2010 study by the Department of Housing and Urban Development showed the nation’s public housing needed billions of dollars’ worth of repairs. “In every city in the country, public housing is in trouble for the exact same reason,” he said. “And as a consequence of that, you’ve been finding public housing as we know it is starting to disappear.”
