UB statement about the arrest of a student-athlete

University Athletics is aware of the alleged incident and is in communication with university and local authorities. 

Quate McKinzie is currently enrolled at the University at Buffalo and is suspended indefinitely from the university’s basketball team.  

Due to the ongoing investigation and federal protections on student information, we will have no further comment on the matter at this time.

Generally speaking, the university has an on-campus judiciary process to address violations of the university’s Student Code of Conduct.  UB Athletics also has a process for addressing violations of student-athlete policies.

We expect all students to serve as community citizens both on and off-campus.
