UB to hold STEM UP job fair Oct. 7 for students, alumni

BUFFALO, N.Y. – The University at Buffalo Office of Career Services will hold STEM UP, a job and internship fair for UB students and alumni in the science, engineering, technology and mathematics fields, from noon to 5 p.m. on Oct. 7 in the main gym of Alumni Arena on the UB North Campus.

More than 120 local, national and start-up companies, including Bloomberg, Citi, General Mills, IBM, Lockheed Martin, Microsoft, Moog, SolarCity, Priceline and Trip Advisor, will participate.

The event will offer a LinkedIn photo booth and “Start-up Alley” for students and alumni interested in entering the start-up field. In addition, UB Career Services staff will be available to offer advice to job seekers.

A mobile app will be available to help participants prepare for and navigate the fair, along with live social media broadcasting and social challenges using a #STEMUP hashtag.

UB also will hold a Career Fair Prep Day, a day-long event from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sept. 29 that will offer UB students 30-minute appointments with employers and UB career counselors to review their resumes and prepare for STEM UP.
