Pharmacy School to Hold Educational Program, Exposition

BUFFALO, N.Y. -- The University at Buffalo School of Pharmacy will hold a Pharmacy Career Pathways Program and Exposition from 8 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. on Oct. 14 in the Center for Tomorrow on the UB North (Amherst) Campus and in the Buffalo/Niagara Marriott Hotel, 1340 Millersport Highway, Amherst.

The program, co-sponsored by the UB Department of Pharmacy Practice and the UB Pharmacy Alumni Association, will provide an opportunity for pharmacists in all health-care settings to network, explore career opportunities and earn continuing-education credit.

Topics for the educational presentations will be "The Concept of Insulin Resistance: Its Importance in Type 2 Diabetes," "Update on New Agents to Treat Cholesterol," "Male Erectile Dysfunction" and "Contemporary Issues in the Management of Asthma."

The program also will include a product-and-service display and exposition by several pharmaceutical companies from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Marriott.

Support for the program will be provided by Parke-Davis; Kos Pharmaceuticals; Pfizer, Inc.; Medical Education Systems, Inc., and Muro Pharmaceutical, Inc./Asta Medica.

The program has been assigned up to four contact hours of continuing-education credit based on the number of sessions attended.
