  • Roswell Park Cancer Institute and the University at Buffalo to Initiate New Transatlantic Graduate Program

    Roswell Park Cancer Institute (RPCI) and the University at Buffalo (UB) have received a $400,000 grant from the U.S. Department of Education to establish a dual master's degree program in the biology and systems of cancer. The RPCI/UB team will work collaboratively with universities in Luxembourg and the Netherlands to implement the graduate program.

    The Asian Studies Program at the University at Buffalo has received a two-year, $172,000 grant from the U.S. Department of Education to expand the university's undergraduate course offerings, academic exchanges and events related to South Asia.

  • French Ambassador to Speak on Renewal of U.S.-French Relations at UB in April

    His Excellency Pierre Vimont, ambassador of France to the United States, will visit the University at Buffalo on April 8 to present a public lecture, "The United States and France and the Renewal of Transatlantic Relations," in which he will discuss the changing nature of relations between the two nations over the past several years.
  • Asian Studies Seminar: Autism and Education in the People's Republic of China

    On April 9, the University at Buffalo Asian Studies Program will present a free public seminar by McCabe, "Autism and Education in the People's Republic Of China," at 7 p.m. in the Unitarian Universalist Church of Amherst, 6320 Main St., Williamsville, across from the ECC North Campus.
  • Area Teachers Invited To Participate In A Free Seminar Series About Asia

    The Asian Studies Program at the University at Buffalo in collaboration with the UB/Public Schools Partnership, will present an "East Asia Seminar for Teachers" on alternating Thursday afternoons and Saturday mornings from Jan. 15 to March 26 in the Buffalo Teacher Resource Center, 150 Lower Terrace.

    The University at Buffalo -- a longtime leader among major research universities in the United States in terms of percentage of enrollment represented by international students -- has increased its profile in the latest "Open Doors 2008" report published by the Institute of International Education (IIE).
