    The University at Buffalo School of Management's Executive MBA (EMBA) program has been ranked as one of best in the world by the Financial Times. Making its first appearance in this ranking, the UB School of Management placed No. 51 out of 100 for its EMBA program, offered in Buffalo and Singapore.

    Soon after architect Dennis Maher arrived in Buffalo in 2002, he took jobs tearing down abandoned homes and other vacant structures to supplement his income as a University at Buffalo adjunct instructor. His experience on demolition crews ended up fueling his art practice: Fascinated by the politics of demolition and shocked by the quantity of waste that resulted from deconstruction, Maher began harvesting scraps from decaying homes and fusing the debris into large-scale sculptures.

    The Sept. 9 issue of the New York Times included an article about an important new art exhibition scheduled to open Oct. 30 in the National Portrait Gallery of the Smithsonian Institution: "Hide/Seek: Difference and Desire in American Portraiture." It is the first major museum exhibition to focus on sexual difference in the making of modern American portraiture and marks a major distinction in the career of art historian Jonathan D. Katz, PhD, a new associate professor in the University at Buffalo Visual Arts Department where he will direct the new doctoral program.
  • UB Neurosurgery Department Ranks 7th in North America in Academic Impact

    BUFFALO, N.Y. -- The University at Buffalo Department of Neurosurgery is ranked 7th in North America in academic impact, based on an analysis of 25 neurosurgery and neurology journals published in the September issue of the Journal of Neurosurgery.

  • UB Law School Receives No. 1 Ranking

    The University at Buffalo Law School is No. 1 in Thomson Reuter's "Super Lawyers" ranking of law graduates practicing in Upstate New York, which includes 54 of the 62 counties in New York State. This is in addition to the UB Law School's 2010 national ranking, where it placed 48th out of the 180 law schools in the country that produced Super Lawyers.
