A University at Buffalo professor who specializes in science education will bring his message of technology and student engagement to the nation's largest group of science educators gathered for the National Science Teachers Association meeting on March 18 in Philadelphia, Pa.

Some of the best science minds around bring their hands-on exhibits and passion for their work to the University at Buffalo's North Campus Wednesday, March 10, for the university's annual Science Exploration Day celebration.

David Felder, PhD, SUNY Distinguished Professor and Birge-Cary Chair in Composition in the University at Buffalo Department of Music, widely regarded as one of America's finest composers of contemporary classical music, has received the American Academy of Arts and Letters' 2010 Academy Award in Music.

The University at Buffalo Art Gallery will present a riveting lecture and film series this spring that will explore the past, present and future relationship between the environment and trade.

Alberto Rey's Lightwell Project at the University at Buffalo is a continuation of his Biological Regionalism series in which he attempts to reestablish a connection to local landscapes by introducing fish found in bodies of water near the exhibition venue into the gallery through video and traditional piscatorial painting.

An exhibition by Paul Lloyd Sargent, to be held March 18 to May 15, will be the second in an annual Artist in Residence program at the University at Buffalo in which artists are invited to transform the gallery space over the duration of the exhibition, providing audiences an opportunity to engage the artist-at-work and witness the transformation of the gallery over time.

Buffalo native and University at Buffalo alumna Amanda Benzin, will perform with Jump Rhythm Jazz Project (JRJP) during their upcoming residency March 15-19 at UB, which will include a public performance on March 19 at 8 p.m. in the Mainstage Theatre, Center for the Arts, North Campus.

The Center for the Arts at the University at Buffalo will present the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra with Wynton Marsalis on March 20 at 8 p.m. in the Mainstage Theatre, Center for the Arts, UB North Campus.
