    The 2011 David Blitzer Lecture Series presented by the University at Buffalo Institute of Jewish Thought and Heritage in Jewish Studies will open on Jan. 31 and continue through April 4 with free public lectures on the UB North Campus and in Amherst's Temple Beth Tzedek by five leading Jewish scholars, philosophers and historians.

The concert is sponsored in part by Monaco's Violin Shop & Music Center.

    A telephone-based group education and support intervention provided to spouses of veterans with mild to severe dementia saved an average of $2,768 per patient over six months compared to "usual care," a study conducted by a University at Buffalo researcher has show. However, those savings dissipated during the following six months and by the one-year assessment the savings were lost.
