  • University to Honor Life and Work of Alan E. Cober, Distinguished Visiting Artist at UB for 11 Years

    The University at Buffalo will honor the life and work of the late illustrator and teacher Alan E. Cober with a series of events that recognize his innovative and nationally distinguished work, collegial relationships with other artists of national distinction and the great influence he had on the many students he taught as visiting professor of art and Distinguished Visiting Artist at UB from 1987-96.
  • Fanfare Theatre Ensemble to Perform Original Musical Adaptation of "Pinocchio"

    Fanfare Theatre Ensemble will perform the original musical production of "Pinocchio," based on the classic tale by Carlo Collodi, at 2 p.m. on Feb. 24 in the Mainstage Theatre located in Center for the Arts on the UB North (Amherst) Campus.
  • Triggle Named SUNY University Professor

    David J. Triggle, SUNY Distinguished Professor in the University at Buffalo School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences and former UB provost, has been named a SUNY University Professor in recognition of his extraordinary achievement as a scientist, administrator and educator.
  • The Honorable Antonin Scalia to Speak at Luncheon

    The Honorable Antonin Scalia, associate justice of the United States Supreme Court, will be the featured speaker at a luncheon at noon on March 13 in the Hyatt Regency Buffalo. He is coming to Buffalo at the invitation of Rabbi Noson Gurary, regional director of the Chabad House of Buffalo and an adjunct faculty member in the Law School. The University at Buffalo Law School is co-sponsoring the event.
  • Classes and Activities Cancelled for the Remainder of the Day (Feb. 1, 2002), Effective at 3 p.m.

    The University at Buffalo has cancelled classes and activities for the remainder of the day (Friday, February 1, 2002), effective at 3 p.m. This is in response to a Town of Amherst "State of Emergency" and a municipal travel ban.
  • MBA Graduate Wins Annual Panasci Entrepreneurial Contest

    JoAnn Johnson, a 2002 graduate of the University at Buffalo's part-time MBA program, won the $25,000 first-place prize in UB's second annual Panasci Entrepreneurial Competition, which awards seed money to UB students and recent alumni who devise and present the best plans for launch of a viable new business in Western New York.
  • Nation's First Degree with Focus in Pharmacometrics, One of Drug Industry's Highest-Paying Fields, Offered at UB

    The nation's first master's degree program in pharmaceutics with a focus in pharmacometrics, a new field that fuses pharmacologic studies with computational and statistical methods of data analysis, has been developed at the University at Buffalo School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences.

    Two women who helped the University at Buffalo gain conference supremacy in track and field and cross country, one of the finest tennis players in school history, a defensive standout on the football field in the mid-80s and a pitcher who established 14 softball records will be inducted into the University at Buffalo Athletic Hall of Fame during a dinner and induction ceremony on Feb. 22.
  • "Berlin to Broadway" to Feature Music of Composer Kurt Weill

    The UB Department of Theatre and Dance will present "Berlin to Broadway," Feb. 20-24 in the Black Box Theatre in the Center for the Arts on the North (Amherst) Campus. Performance times will be 8 p.m. Feb. 20-22; 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. Feb. 23, and 2 p.m. Feb. 24.
  • UB to Present Lecture Series Addressing September 11

    A special lecture series offering "Perspectives on September 11th and its Aftermath" will be presented this spring by the Council on International Studies and Programs and the Office of the Vice Provost for International Education at the University at Buffalo.
