    Gayle A. Brazeau of Amherst has been selected to receive the 2003 Rufus A. Lyman Award from the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy (AACP) for the best work published in 2002 in the American Journal of Pharmaceutical Education (AJPE).

A bright pink, inflatable elephant, a child's toy, lies on its side on the kitchen floor and a small stuffed animal, a white puppy, rests on the living room couch. This is the scene described by a local police detective, an invited speaker for "What Did They Die From," an undergraduate honors class at the University at Buffalo.
  • Members of Presidential Search Committee Select Emn/Witt/Kieffer to Lead Hunt for New UB President

    The members of the University at Buffalo Presidential Search Advisory Committee, the group responsible for the national search to identify UB's next president, met for the first time on May 13. The purpose of the meeting was to begin work with well-known search firm EMN/Witt/Kieffer, the firm engaged to assist with the presidential selection process.

    A researcher at the University at Buffalo's Research Institute on Addictions has received a Scientist Development Award from the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism to study the relationship between alcohol and aggressive thinking.

    Charles Patrick Ewing, an internationally renowned forensic psychologist and professor of law at the University at Buffalo, has been appointed to the rank of Distinguished Service Professor by the State University of New York Board of Trustees.

    The University at Buffalo's Office of Alumni Relations has won a Gold award for its new Web site from CASE, the Council for Advancement and Support of Education, which represents more than 3,000 colleges and universities in the United States, Canada, Mexico, and 42 other countries.

    Beginning May 19, the UB Art Gallery in the Center for the Arts on the UB North (Amherst) Campus will initiate its summer hours. The summer hours will be 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
