Ross Eye Institute -- a collaboration of the Department of Ophthalmology in UB's School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences, the Elizabeth Pierce Olmsted, M.D., Center for the Visually Impaired and University Ophthalmology Services -- opened today at 1176 Main Street.

    There's good news this month for Buffalo "Digimon" and "Card Captors" enthusiasts and the die-hard fans of environmental savior "Princess Mononoke of the Wolves" and "Akira," the innovative, layered film said to have pioneered anime's modernist form. Nov. 9 is the day the University at Buffalo and the Albright-Knox Art Gallery will team up to focus on the thriving anime industry.

These are questions researchers at the University at Buffalo hope to answer via a three-year, $1.4 million grant from the National Institute of Child Heath and Human Development.
