    The University at Buffalo Department of Visual Studies and the Humanities Institute, in partnership with the Albright Knox Art Gallery, will present a conversation on the controversy surrounding the recent Smithsonian exhibition "Hide/Seek: Difference and Desire in American Portraiture," co-curated by Jonathan D. Katz, director of the UB doctoral program in visual studies, on Sept. 25 at 2 p.m. in the Albright-Knox auditorium.

    Buffalo Bills offensive lineman Demetrius Bell was looking forward to the team' first game of the 2009 regular season, having spent his entire rookie season the year before on the inactive roster. Bell had earned the left tackle spot for the opener against the New England Patriots, his first NFL career start. The Bills lost 25-24, but No. 77 went on to start in five more games that fall. It was during his sixth game that Bell suffered a knee injury that took him out of the game and off the playing field for nearly a year.

    Mary Wilson, wife of Buffalo Bills owner Ralph C. Wilson Jr., will join University at Buffalo President Satish K. Tripathi, PhD, at a news conference to announce a $1 million gift from the Ralph C. Wilson Foundation to UB.

    The Buffalo and Fort Erie Peace Bridge Authority will bathe the Peace Bridge in blue and white lights from 8 p.m. Sept. 19 to 2 a.m. Sept. 20 to salute the inauguration of Satish K Tripathi, PhD, 15th president of the University at Buffalo, and in recognition of Inauguration Week at UB, Sept. 19-24.
