    Internationally regarded human rights advocate Claude E. Welch, SUNY Distinguished Service Professor in the Department of Political Science at the University at Buffalo, has received a grant from the Canadian government to hold a major academic conference at UB to address violations of economic rights in the Western Hemisphere.

    The UCI/RCPC Library and Resource Center in 100D Allen Hall on the University at Buffalo South (Main Street) Campus will hold an open house and reception from 4:30-6:30 p.m. on Oct. 17. The event, which will be open to the public, will include a program at 5 p.m. honoring those who have assisted in the center's creation.
