Ning Dai.

Ning Dai can speak to the media about how wastewater is treated and recycled for agricultural and landscape irrigation, industrial processes, toilet flushing and other purposes.

An expert in environmental chemistry, Dai’s research aims to improve technologies for wastewater reuse. Her team also studies basic chemical processes associated with pollution, such as how sunlight and airborne pollutants alter pesticides on the surfaces of leaves, or how algal blooms interact with disinfectants used in drinking water treatment.

Ultimately, this work addresses environmental challenges associated with water scarcity, agricultural pollution and climate change.
