Sickle cell disease impact on adults, reproduction; long COVID, treating patients and educating providers; osteopathic manipulation for chronic pain
Jennifer Abeles can talk to the media about caring for adults with long COVID and with sickle cell disease with a focus on adult patient care. She co-directs UB’s WNY Long COVID Resource Center that was established to help health care providers care for patients with the disease and she co-directed the multidisciplinary Long COVID Clinic at UB.
As the director of the Adult Sickle Cell Transitional Care program for the Division of Internal Medicine-Pediatrics in the Department of Medicine, she can discuss the needs of sickle cell patients as they transition from pediatric to adult care. She can also discuss the special reproductive health needs of patients with sickle cell disease.
