Next-generation solar cells, new materials for space and terrestrial photovoltaics, semiconductor materials and optoelectronic devices
Ian Sellers can speak to the news media about a variety of topics related to semiconductors, optoelectronics, and solar cells.
His lab focuses of developing new materials and devices that improve photovoltaic technology, especially solar cells that satellites and other spacecraft rely upon for power. This work includes research into semiconductors, perovskite solar cell systems and other technology with wide-ranging applications.
Sellers has received research funding from the U.S. Space Force, the U.S. National Science Foundation, NASA and other sources. He is co-director of UB’s Center for Advanced Semiconductor Technologies.
