AREAS OF EXPERTISE:

Fish and other aquatic species; freshwater fishing industry in the U.S.; freshwater ecosystems; invasive species; conservation; climate change

Corey Krabbenhoft is an expert on freshwater ecosystems and the aquatic species that live there.

With a focus on conservation, her research addresses how human activities — from pollution to channelization — impact freshwater ecosystems, and how fish and aquatic invertebrates respond to these stressors. To do this, she and her team analyze a wide range of ecological data and deploy various modeling techniques.

This can reveal not only how these ecosystems function, but also how they came to be and how they will respond to future stressors, such as climate change.

Krabbenhoft can speak to the media about freshwater ecosystems, the fishing industry, conservation issues and climate change.
