Freshmen

Here is how to take the first step.

Student showing a note that says you are what you love, not who loves you.

We are glad that you are considering UB and our program for your college education. Please visit the Office of Admissions for an overview of how to apply for admission to UB and be considered for EOP.

Important Things to Remember

  • It is important that you answer “Yes” to the EOP question. EOP applicants are not required to pay the application fee and are not eligible for Early Action admission.
  • SAT and ACT requirements for admissions for the 2023-24 academic year are temporarily suspended for the spring 2022, fall 2023 and spring 2024 cycles. Students can share their scores as part of their application if they choose by selecting this option on their application.
  • You should complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Fill out the FAFSA even if you are not sure you’re applying to UB. The application opens on Oct. 1. Note: New York State residents will initiate the TAP application process by completing the FAFSA. A separate application is not required.
  • When we receive your application, the Office of Admissions will first determine your academic eligibility and if deemed academically eligible send you information about how to verify your financial eligibility for EOP.  Visit the SUNY website for the most current information.
