First-Year Students

Here is how to take the first step.

Student showing a note that says you are what you love, not who loves you.

We are glad that you are considering UB and our program for your college education. Please visit the Office of Admissions for an overview of how to apply for admission to UB and be considered for EOP.

Important Things to Remember

  • It is important that you answer “Yes” to the EOP question. EOP applicants are not required to pay the application fee and are not eligible for Early Action admission.
  • UB supports SUNY’s decision to make the submission of SAT and ACT test scores optional and does not require test scores for admissions consideration. Students can share their scores as part of their application if they choose by selecting this option on their application.
  • You should complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Fill out the FAFSA even if you are not sure you’re applying to UB. The FAFSA application opens in December. Note: New York State residents will initiate the TAP application process by completing the FAFSA. A separate application is not required.
  • When we receive your application, the Office of Admissions will first determine your academic eligibility and if deemed academically eligible send you information about how to verify your financial eligibility for EOP.  Visit the SUNY website for the most current information.
