The Festival of Culture Uniting Students (FOCUS) kicks off with a student-led parade from Hayes Hall (South Campus) at 8:00 p.m.; followed by a party at Goodyear Hall featuring:

• DJ dance party
• Games
• International food from local restaurants
• All students are welcome to attend!

Attend the official welcome for the incoming class. This event is for new students only. 

Human Interlocking UB Photo

Following Convocation, new students will participate in the creation of the traditional human interlocking logo for an official class photo. This is an outdoor event; please bring a water bottle and limited personal items (e.g., backpacks).  This event is for new students only.

Don’t miss this street party meets involvement fair! This is UB’s largest student organization tabling event of the year! Meet with over 150 clubs/orgs, dunk an orientation leader (OL), play on inflatables, or grab a snack from a food truck during this event.

Celebrating the start of the new academic year with fireworks and entertainment. A live DJ kicks-off this free event under the stars.

12 - 2 p.m. | 145 Student Union

Join the LGBTQ+ Center for one of our largest annual community-building events. Students will enjoy free Ben & Jerry’s ice cream, music, and opportunities to connect with student organizations, campus partners and one another. All students are welcome.

4- 8 p.m. | Student Union Courtyard

Fusion Fest is a campus welcome back event created to bring together new and returning students in a fun, inclusive, and engaging environment. The event celebrates the diverse backgrounds, cultures, and identities that make up the UB community. Attendees can enjoy a live DJ, photobooths, food trucks, face painting and airbrush tattoos, games, and activities. RSVP preferred but not required. Free food will be available for a limited time.
