UB video podcast features interview with CTSI Director

“Tech Talk,”  a video podcast produced by UB Information Technology, featured an interview with University at Buffalo Clinical and Translational Science Institute (CTSI) Director Timothy F. Murphy, MD, SUNY Distinguished Professor. In the 29-minute video — episode seven of the ongoing series — Murphy discussed his own research, the work of the CTSI in advancing research discoveries, translational science, use of data in health research including social determinants of health, AI, and the overall impact of technology on research.

Past episodes of “Tech Talk” have featured several individuals with CTSI affiliations, including CTSI Board Member Venu Govindaraju, PhD, Vice President for Research and Economic Development, SUNY Distinguished Professor of Computer Science and Engineering (episode two); 2023 CTSI Community Partnership Development Seed Grant Program Award Academic Co-lead Jessica S. Kruger, PhD, Clinical Associate Professor, Department of Community Health and Health Behavior, School of Public Health and Health Professions (episode five); and CTSI Informatics Core Director Peter L. Elkin, MD, Professor and Chair, Department of Biomedical Informatics and Professor of Internal Medicine, Department of Biomedical Informatics, Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences (episode nine).

“Tech Talk” was hosted by J. Brice Bible, formerly UB’s vice president and chief information officer. New episodes are expected this year.
