Apply to be a Tutor or Academic Coach

Thank you for your interest in becoming part of the Tutoring and Academic Support Services (TASS) team. We welcome applications for tutors, coaches, and Peer-Assisted Learning (PAL) leaders who have completed at least 15 credits at the University at Buffalo and have earned an A- or better in the course(s) they wish to tutor. Applicants must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 and not have any academic integrity issues at UB. Our staff members hold paid positions, which include training and can lead to certification.

Please complete and submit the application below. We will only contact individuals who are qualified for the positions and only when there is an opening to be filled. As with any position, there is no guarantee of being hired after applying.

There is no need to stop by the center to express your interest after you submit your application nor is there a need to resubmit you application if you don’t’ hear from us within 6 months of applying. If you are not called for an interview within 6 months of your application, we will not be pursuing your candidacy as we receive a lot of applications and may not have openings.

Spring 2024 update: At this time TASS is not reviewing applications. We will review applications after spring break in preparation for summer 2024 hiring leading to fall 2024 start.
