If nothing else, COVID-19 has crystalized the importance of valuing science, appreciating the fragility of life, and understanding the importance of how decisions deferred create dire consequences for the present and future generations. UB has doubled down on our commitment to climate neutrality by 2030. UB’s 10 in 10 is a roadmap of 10 innovative, engaging and digestible steps to address the greatest threat of our time.

Our planet is at a crucial point. The University at Buffalo has put in decades of work in making our campus more sustainable and decreasing its greenhouse gas impact. Now the time has come to take bold, big actions in achieving our goal of carbon neutrality by 2030.

Quantifying our greenhouse gas footprint guides us in our reduction strategies. Our university has measured its impact since 2009. Along the way, we got better at capturing a more holistic picture of this impact, but we still have more to do.
