As a historian, Coleman is most interested in the use of the humanities as a revolutionary means of tackling misinformation in the 21st century.
Her research interests include Caribbean and Latin American histories, Black nationalist movements, and questions of Black identities across borders/boundaries. Coleman believes that an understanding of tactics used within global Black freedom struggles can be paramount to developing systems of resistance based in community-building.
As a Grant Proposal Manager in the Office of Research Advancement (ORA), Coleman is interested in keeping an eye out for key grant opportunities that would support the Center's vision and mission, as well as supporting PI teams through the submission process.
