Leah Jacobs is the founder and director of Digital Wellness Project, a multidisciplinary initiative focused on shaping policy, advancing education, and developing resources that promote healthier digital media use among youth.
Her work bridges the fields of mental health, digital culture, and youth development, with a specific focus on addressing the psychological and social impacts of technology in the lives of youth and young adults.
She began her career as a mental health counselor, working in both community-based and pediatric settings of care. Across these clinical environments, she consistently observed youth and young adults struggling with anxiety, identity development, and emotional dysregulation, often in direct connection to their digital lives. These patterns prompted her to launch Digital Wellness Project, where she now collaborates with educators, fellow clinicians, technologists, and policymakers to reduce digital harm and amplify digital rewards.
Leah holds multiple certifications in Youth Mental Health, Social-Emotional Learning (SEL), and Technology Addiction and Digital Health in Children and Adolescents. She is also a member of Women in AI Ethics, where she contributes to conversations around the ethical design and deployment of technology as it affects vulnerable populations.
