Haimonti Dutta

Department of Management Science and Systems

Haimonti Dutta, PhD, is an assistant professor in the Department of Management Science and Systems and a core faculty member of the Computational and Data Enabled Science and Engineering program at UB. An expert in machine learning, distributed optimization, and large-scale distributed and parallel mining, Dutta’s research focuses primarily on consensus-based machine learning. Her research has been funded by the National Science Foundation, Amazon Web Services, EMC, Mathworks Inc, Epilepsy Research Foundation and the Consolidated Edison Company of New York. In 2022, Dutta received a National Endowment for the Humanities fellowship to the American Institute of Indian Studies to work on her project, “Digitization, Transcription and Art Recommendation From Painted Narrative Scrolls of Bengal.”
