Congratulations to Jacob Eisler (2024 Baldy Center Mid-Career Fellow) and John Harland Giammatteo (School of Law) who each won AALS Section Awards by School for excellence in legal education. Florida State University College of Law recognized Eisler, author of “The Law of Freedom: The Supreme Court and Democracy” (Cambridge University Press, 2023)in the Section in Election Law. The University at Buffalo School of Law recognized Giammatteo in two areas, the Section on Federal Courts, and, the Section on Civil Procedure.

Section awards are granted to individual law faculty by AALS Sections, the 108 communities within AALS organized around subject matter, administrative area, and affinity groups. The nature and frequency of Section awards vary. The AALS (Association of American Law Schools) presented the awards at the annual meeting, January 10, 2025, in San Francisco, Califorinia.
