UB offering free Box accounts

UB is offering free, campus-supported Box.com accounts to all faculty, staff and students starting March 1.

Box.com is a document-management and collaboration platform that allows people to keep their files in one place and offers access from any device. Similar to Dropbox or Google Drive, it provides unlimited storage space, increased file size and upload limits, and enhanced collaboration tools.

Those who already have Box accounts that use a buffalo.edu email address will be automatically migrated to the new UBbox service. UB faculty, staff and students will log in with their UBITName and password, which will replace any current Box.com passwords.

Anyone with a buffalo.edu email who does not want their existing Box.com account moved to the UBbox service can opt out by changing the email address associated with their account to a non-UB email address by Feb. 29.

To learn more about UBbox and find video tutorials and instructions, visit http://ubbox.buffalo.edu. Those who did not previously have a Box account linked to a buffalo.edu email address can check back on March 1 to access their UBbox account.
