Bulls earn AP Top 25 ranking

For the first time in program history, the UB football team has made an appearance in the Associated Press College Football Top 25 Poll. The Bulls were ranked 24th in the latest poll released on Sunday.

The Bulls are 4-0 on the season, following four convincing wins. And the cancellation of Saturday’s game due to COVID-19 issues with the Ohio University program didn’t deter voters from including UB on their Top 25 ballots.

UB tallied 145 points, 30 points ahead of 25th-ranked Wisconsin and 19 points behind 23rd-ranked Texas. The Bulls are the first Mid-American Conference team to be ranked in the AP Top 25 since Western Michigan in 2016.

UB remains the only undefeated team in the MAC, and leads the nation in scoring offense, averaging 50.8 points per game. Running back Jaret Patterson leads the country in rushing, averaging 230 yards per game.

The Bulls conclude the regular season when they host Akron on Saturday in UB Stadium.
