UB CAT seeking faculty proposals

The UB Center for Advanced Technology in Big Data and Health Sciences (UB CAT) is seeking proposals from faculty to fund collaborative projects with industry that are centered on big data and health sciences.

Funded by a 10-year, $10 million award from Empire State Development’s Division of Science, Technology & Innovation, UB CAT helps faculty members commercialize their technology. It is dedicated to leveraging UB’s resources to drive company growth, especially pertaining to drug development, medical devices and diagnostics.

Awardees gain access to faculty expertise, equipment and reduced rates on technology services and supplies. 

Past funding awardees of UB CAT, which is administered by UB’s Office of Business and Entrepreneur Partnerships, include some of Buffalo’s most promising startups, including Garwood Medical Devices and Circuit Clinical.
