Volunteers are needed to help with Western New York’s 10th annual celebration of World Refugee Day, a global event initiated in 2000 by the United Nations that is designed to recognize the people who add diversity to our communities.
UB’s School of Social Work is a sponsor of the daylong event, which will take place June 29 and 30 in LaSalle Park in Buffalo.
Volunteers are needed to help with coordinating event activities, such as a soccer tournament, kids and women’s activities and cultural performances.
Those interested may fill out and submit the volunteer recruitment form. For more information, contact Kara Smith at wrdwny@gmail.com using “volunteer” in the subject line.
