An upcoming event will reverse the usual format of a career fair, with 43North companies pitching themselves to UB students instead of the other way around.

The event — Reverse Pitch with 43North — will take place from 5-7 p.m. April 3 in 112 O’Brian Hall, North Campus.

Multiple companies that have won Buffalo’s 43North startup competition will present on their business models, culture and talent needs, including job and internship opportunities. The rapid-fire presentations will be followed by a question-and-answer session and networking. Dinner will be provided.

UB undergraduate and graduate students who are interested in working for startups can register online for Reverse Pitch.

UB organizers include the Business and Entrepreneur Partnerships office, Career Services, Inve[n|s]t, the Career Resource Center in the School of Management, the Department of Computer Science and Engineering in the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences, UB’s Blackstone LaunchPad powered by Techstars, and the Western New York Incubator Network, managed by UB.

The Reverse Pitch event will double as the regular biweekly meeting of UB Inve[n|s]t — a faculty, staff and student club for innovators looking to work on exciting, real-world challenges. Club adviser Alan Hunt, professor of practice in the computer science and engineering department, will serve as emcee.
