Robin Schulze, dean of the College of Arts and Sciences, and Charles F. Zukoski, provost and executive vice president for academic affairs, will introduce Bronwyn Keenan, the college’s new director of the Arts Collaboratory, at a meet-and-greet reception from 11 a.m. to noon Feb. 7 in the Center for the Arts atrium.

Light refreshments will be served.

The Arts Collaboratory is a new strategic initiative within the college designed to combine the strength of UB’s arts departments and programs to increase visibility, encourage collaboration among disciplines and promote connections between the university and the region.

Keenan arrives at UB with more than 25 years of experience in the arts, including operating her namesake gallery for emerging artists from 1995-2006 in the SoHo district of New York City. She also directed special events at the Guggenheim Museum and the Metropolitan Museum of Art, where she initiated and produced site-specific programs and collaborations with such artists as Animal Collective and Danny Perez, MGMT and Maurizio Cattelan, and Katherine Bernhardt and Grandmaster Flash.

She is also active in Downtown for Democracy, a progressive organization that collaborates across disciplines and aims to be a voice for creative people across the country.
