Members of the UB community are invited to donate school supplies to benefit Buffalo students in kindergarten through grade 8.

The popular annual School Supply Drive, sponsored by the Office of Community Relations and supported by more than 40 departments throughout the university, collects more than 17,000 items that will be distributed to elementary and middle schools in Buffalo in September.

Suggested items include tissues, book bags, cups, folders, crayons, pencils, glue, hand sanitizer, cleaning supplies, markers, erasers, scissors, hand soap, notebooks, dividers, pencil sharpeners, rulers, calculators, dictionaries, USB flash drives and planners.

The supplies will be distributed to students at Westminster Community Charter School, Highgate Heights Elementary, Futures Academy, Bilingual Center, Southside Elementary and families at the Educational Opportunity Center.

Items may be dropped off at locations on the UB North, South and Downtown campuses. Visit the UB and You website for drop-off locations.

The last day to donate is Aug. 30. For more information, visit the Office of Community Relations’ website or contact Community Relations at 829-3099.
