Recognition continues to roll in for UB’s sustainability efforts. UB ranks among the top 50 U.S. universities in SaveOnEnergy.com’s 2017 Green Report, released last week. UB landed at No. 45 on the list.

The report utilized the 2017 U.S. News & World Report Top 100 Universities list and re-ranked the top colleges based on a number of green factors. Data regarding campus initiatives, partnerships with the community and the overall focus on eco-friendliness within the city was assessed to determine the SaveOnEnergy “green score” and rank.

The full list, and additional information about the report and its methodology, can be found on the SaveOnEnergy website.

The past 12 months have seen one success after another for UB’s sustainability efforts. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency recognized UB with one of three Green Power Partner of the Year awards, and The Princeton Review ranked UB among the nation’s Top 50 Green Colleges. In May, UB was named one of three winners of Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s Energy to Lead competition.
