The UB Art Galleries are hosting a free art workshop on Oct. 8 in conjunction with the “Lydia Okumura: Situations” exhibition.

The workshop, which will include collage and painting, will take place from noon to 3 p.m. in the UB Anderson Gallery, One Martha Jackson Place, off Englewood Avenue near the South Campus.

“Lydia Okumura: Situations” is the first solo museum exhibition of the Brazilian-born artist in the United States. It is being presented in both the Anderson Gallery and UB Art Gallery in the Center for the Arts through Jan. 7.

The exhibition is a survey of Okumura’s career from 1971 through today, showcasing her dynamic installations, indoor and outdoor sculptures, and works on paper.
